Self Reflective free essay sample

While reading this story I thought a lot about the family issues they face, the working field for people with these daily challenges, and also just the fact of them being accepted in the world as a normal human being. These things really touched my heart not realizing the things they go through that so many people take advantage of on a daily basis. I found it very interesting the two different lifestyles that the two men lived with during their lives after. I think it is a good thing and a bad thing in a different manner to how his mom treated him. I believe that you can show someone with a disability to much sympathy. A lot of people don’t want you to feel sorry for them and want to be accepted and looked at as if they were just as capable as we are. So many people try to treat them as if they are babies and not able to do anything which in return will make them not want to be around you. I feel like we should let them do as much as they are possibly able to do so they will feel accepted and feel as if there is nothing different about them. Also, letting them do things and be self dependent will not cause them to be lazy and depend on others for things that they are capable of doing. I feel like that reason is one reason you see many people with disabilities over weight because the family waits on them hand and foot. On the other hand you have these families that only want the people around for the money that they receive on them and don’t take care of them at all and especially with the things that they have to have done because it is impossible for them to do them alone. These people suffer daily because of the neglect they receive on families and friends that are just not doing the part that they have accepted and supposed to be doing. I feel like if a family takes on the role of being the primary aregiver to their loved one then they should have classes and whatever it takes to be the perfect caregiver for them. There is a lot of time and patience you have to put into them if you really are in it for the love. The working field in my opinion is one of the biggest struggles with people with these disabilities. I say if they are able to work let them do it. If they want to get out in the real world and make money to support them and not live off the government then let them do it. I think it is a blessing when you see them out working just as hard if not harder than the people that don’t have challenges as they do. There are a lot of jobs out there where I know these people could fit in and do a wonderful job. For example, I live in Grant County Kentucky and there is a gentleman that works for the court system and has a well seen disability. It takes him longer to get where he is going and his speech isn’t as good as what mine is but he does it daily. It touches my heart every time I see him working and doing for himself and not being dependent on anyone else. I am sure there are times that he has to ask for assistant but for the most part his is totally dependent. The other thing that I have seen that is awesome in the work field for people with the same disabilities as Steve and Jim is at Goodwill Store they are all about people with disabilities. I worked for the company before and they welcome them there to work with open arms and treat them no different. I think that people with disabilities are often looked at as if they are monsters of some sort. The society today is a hard place to live in. Steve and Jim were treated as if they were outcast from different people and treated like there was no other and there was nothing wrong with them just because they had something wrong with them. You have to show these people love and affection and let them be known that they are here for a reason and they are needed out in this world. Just because they have a mental or physical disability doesn’t meant that they don’t have a heart. I feel like Jim’s girlfriend couldn’t have done anything worse than getting with his best friend after his times of need. Yes, he was hard on her and others when all they were doing was trying to help out but you have to think as if you were in his shoes. It is a very trying and emotional time for someone to have such trauma hit them at such a young age. The things you could do with your friends and family is now just an existence. I think if she really loved him then she would have bit her tongue for awhile and gave it time to let it all sink in. Maybe take him to some kind of counseling like he got afterwards to make him feel better about the situation that he was put in out of his control. I know if that was my boyfriend I would have stuck with him until the end and wouldn’t have let anyone or anything come before that commitment. I really enjoyed reading this story and it has definitely made me look at people with such a less fortunate life then we have different. It made me realize that when I have something bad going on in my life that there is always someone else who is having a bigger problem so just hold your head high and thank god that I am alive and breathing and need no assistance. I am so glad that both of these gentlemen’s life is going so well for them today and they are achieving everything that their heart has set out to do. If people today would see that there is a special place for disabled people as special and determined as Jim and Steve were this world would be a better place.

The Legacy of the French Revolution essays

The Legacy of the French Revolution essays One of the periods of tremendous upheaval throughout Europe was the French revolution, beginning in 1789. As the people of France, from the workers to the bourgeoisie to the nobles, vied for political power and control, the country went through intense periods of terror and bloodshed. Some may argue that the revolutions end did not fulfill the desires of the French people or aid them in their search for reform. But the revolution did create the inextinguishable spark throughout Europe: the right to rebel. All over the continent oppressed countries began following Frances lead, trying to better their life through rebellion. This spark of hope in Europes lower classes is the foremost legacy of the French revolution; all people realized the power of the working man and his ability to unite a country. While the revolution, with its moderate yet useless political reform, implement the beginning of the modern age of France, the revolutions true legacy was to afford Europes lower classes wi th the confidence, cause, and motivation to change their country through rebellion. The political reforms created by the revolution in France did little to better the peoples lives or empower them through representation. As power shifted hands throughout the revolutions four stages, the demands of the lower classes remained as they had been upon the meeting of the Estates General. The peasants cry for lower taxes and less economic pressure was due to their lack of food and privileges, neither of which were addressed at all during the revolution. The drafters constitutions of the 1790s were never concerned about socialist reforms, instead they wish to empower themselves. But by 1848, the socialist peasants realized their immense oppression and soaring taxes had not been eliminated, and revolted against the revolutionaries in a violent outburst that left unrest all over France. A truly reformed country...

Aspects of Contract and Negligence for Business Essay - 10

Aspects of Contract and Negligence for Business - Essay Example When A promises to sell a mobile phone to B for $100 and B promises to buy it from A, the plain giving of a return- promise is already an acceptance. A Bilateral contract differs from the unilateral contract wherein the former is formed upon completed performance Related to bilateral contract is Quasi contract that is not actually a contract, but is applied by courts to unfinished business of bilateral contracts. It is an unbiased system used by the court to: â€Å"avoid unfairness by allowing the plaintiff A to sue to recover the value of the benefit he gave to the other party B.. To compensate for such unfairness, the law implies a promise by B to pay the reasonable value of the benefit which has been conferred on him by the A.†(Stevens, John, 2014) In order to take advantage of the quasi-contract system, plaintiff must show evidence that A actually rendered or expended property that benefitted the B and to allow B to retain the benefits without paying A is unfair. Unilateral contract is not commonly used. In this kind of contract, only one person is obligated to do something. A reward contract is a case in point wherein a person offers a reward to pay a sum of money in exchange for information for the return of something. In this case, the person who received the reward is not obligated to do something. Applying the quasi-contract theory on unilateral contracts, let us look at this situation wherein a doctor rendered medical help to an injured person in an emergency case. Under the quasi-contract theory, the court will imply a promise that the injured person will pay for the value of the medical treatment received.. Implied contracts. There are situations that the terms in the contract are implied and are done as a sign of goodwill. For instance, warranty on the workability, adaptability of the product are illustrations of implied

Lower Division Capstone PowerPoint Presentation Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Lower Division Capstone - PowerPoint Presentation Example (Barro, 2008) GDP is a very important factor which tells the state of an economy. Recession is usually around the corner when GDP has been shrinking for two quarters in a row. Country is usually seen to be recovering back from recession when GDP starts growing again. A high GDP growth country usually attracts a lot of investments. GDP per capita is regarded as an indicator of the overall well being of the citizens of a country. China and India have high GDPs but their GDP per capita is low which is consistent with the millions of poor and malnourished in these countries. The output composition of GDP gives an indication of the type of economy that a country has. A country following an aggressive form of development is most likely to be spending most on investment and very little on consumption. If the GDP data is collected according to various industrial and sectoral categories we can get great insights into the composition of the economy. Normally after a recession just like the one that the country recently witnesses we expect a period of renewal with a high GDP growth .But this time the GDP growth rate has been very lackluster which has raised fears of a double dip recession.GDP as well as total consumer spending in US has declined sharply during the first quarter of 2011 as can be seen from the graph below. The crisis that started a few years ago was largely due to the housing bubble. The great news is that the debt has been reducing continuously and has now reached levels of 1980s and 90s.The burden of debt at present is not too high and will certainly not hamper growth to a large extent (Tilton, August 2011). Household and auto sector were one of the most severely hit sectors during recession. However these sectors are cyclic in nature and are expected to regain some of their lost vigour. This will certainly help in boosting the economy of the country. (Tilton, August 2011) The high deficit of the US government
